One step at a time (Part 1) - A Play in Costume
I still feel traumatic about how I am linking my cosplay to my traumatic experience that made my gut twisted as heck. Also how I was treated about my appearance in the past, but I'm not gonna say it in detail, but I want to take a step forward one by one. Confidence in myself can be built, just create a safe space for yourself first without demeaning others.
First, I'm going to put the Green Medieval Dress. Take a photo of myself. No wig yet, just dance. Play around. Be like an animal crossing character. Be an OC in a fantasy word first. I wanna remind myself that the "play" in the dress/costume comes first before the wig. Warm-up, what would I do in this dress? What is appropriate for this character in front of the mirror, the camera?
Get into the character.
One step at a time. You're going to be okay. I just have to do it in my bedroom although it will not be studio quality. You're going to be okay.
Just a short one, but this is how hard it is to just be playful in a costume for long. But I hope I did make progress no matter how small.
