I released my own Self-Published Book too, it's just, People Nearby don't Care

Recently, my mom showed me one of my highschool classmate's big achievement, and he was finally releasing a book about his long-passion for snakes/herpetology. People now started saying how he is always so determined to follow what he wanted and he made it happen. I cannot help but wonder, can I be him too?

I remember in past highschool time, people would say that, he was really weird student - only obsessed with snakes. He struggled with academics and teacher made fun of him. I remembered I was one of very few that was interested in snakes too - I was watching a lot of national geographic. We chatted a lot, and I had fun with our nerdy snakes and animals fact. But after we graduated highschool, we kind of lost contact.

No one else was believing in him, and he just went on to do what he wanted to do and he just believed that we could do it. I remembered also including his parents.

Around a decade later, he finally released a book, and from the description he found a quite prestigious experience. And on that day, now people started to believe in him. I cannot help but to hold my emotions.

"Can I still do it when everyone else nearby not believing in me?" "Why do I need to prove others first that I can do it, when I wany to make it happen because I truly WANT it?"

It's easy to just blame "if my parents are rich enough" or "if I were to born into a man, maybe people would take me more seriously". But I wanna set myself an experiment:

"What can I do within my capability? Do I have anything I have in mind that I can work towards what I want to achieve?"

On another note, I did release softly of my self-published books and zines. Many for them, in small sizes. And unfortunately people don't take me seriously because it's just "a little thing to do in spare time". I'd be honest I did not get rich doing it, but I am feeling enough doing it

That's all for the more spontaneous blog, I hope you enjoy!
